HDR (high definition range) photography uses a set of techniques -- typically with bracketed exposures and composite digital processing -- to achieve the dynamic range that is often similar to what a human eye can perceive, rather than what a conventional photograph is capable of rendering. The following interior picture (a composite of five exposures) was photographed with primarily natural light source from outside. A conventional shot of such a scene would leave the corners of the stairs too dark, and the window shade along with neighbor's house across the street too bright for any detail.
